There are tributes and figures everywhere you look. A shrine to Ganesha the elephant god in the middle of the intersection. 

Not surprisingly, fishermen are honored. 

I'm not sure who this woman is, but I like her headdress. 

This reminded me of a Day of the Dead altar: 

I know Susan will appreciate the giant lobster shrine. 

And finally, there was something sweet about this guy (or gal), even with the broken ears.
